How to sum up our trip to Seattle and Portland?  Epic Awesomeness.

For one, the beauty of the Northwest.  Stunning. So picturesque and dreamy... all of the time.

If you read our facebook or twitters, you could easily tell we were impressed. As if we had been living in the vast desert for 4 years and hadn't seen an ounce of greenery all that time. And if you had been in the car while we were driving from place to place, you would have died from the cheesiness.

And you also would have been appalled at how quickly we were ready to abandon our home for prettier locations.

Yes, we were impressed with the scenery, the feeling of the city buzz, the sincere clients we met.  But I'll tell you what- Tyler and I are very happy campers living here in Temecula. This city may not have the beauty that pretty much any other city has; there may not be tons of outdoor activities for our immediate enjoyment; and there are definite downsides of living in California- but in the end, this is our home. We love it here. We have great friends, wonderful family nearby, and a terrific social network.

We are so happy here and life is good to us. Strangely, going somewhere beautiful helped us realize that once again.

In seattle, we met up with lots of wonderful families for pictures near Pike Place. I can't wait to show you some from that location. We also met up with friends, saw the sights, and went kayaking!

Here's a little video I took while out of the river. I don't really recall why we were  giggling so much... we were high on love, maybe?

We went to see the Troll under the Bridge, the Space Needle, and ate a lot of food. Tyler and I were enamored with all of the bridges in Seattle- we LOVE the design and structure of bridges.

Check out how much more air I get while doing a Russian Toe-Touch than Tyler. Honestly, I think he needs to go back to Gymnastics.

We met our new friend through our blog, Laura, and she showed us around with her cute husband Stuart. More pix here. We ate Mexican Food and Laura burned her hand on her hot plate right after the server said "Don't touch! It's really hot!"  It was sad but we all laughed.

The above shows Ty's "look." He does it for pictures... and makes me laugh every time. I seriously have 1.5 gazillion pix of him doing this look. Funny guy.

Back at our hotel room, we did long exposure tricks. Um hulloh- Butterfly man? SO COOL.

In Portland, we met up with some clients for several hours of hiking.  This is another great thing we've experienced- wherever we go, we're privileged to meet our blog readers, go to dinner with them, and make new friends. It's very cool. Very, very cool.

We hiked at Wahkeena Falls and then checked out Multnomah Falls. Um, pretty? Doesn't even begin to describe this place.  Only look at the pictures below if you can handle the fact that I wore the same outfit twice on our vacation. Ew? Let's pretend there was a washing machine and that I didn't have to hand wash everything in the tub.

I think I'm starting to get Old Lady Elbow Syndrome. Ew.

It was all just so perfect.  It was fun to come home though, and see the kids and hear their stories of what they did with cousins.  Whenever the kids first see us after a trip, it's complete madness. They both talk a mile a minute, trying to outdo the other's voice, in this fashion:

You know, that kind of chaos that hurts your brain but melts your heart because they are so.stinking.terrific.
