Isabelle loves to tell anyone she meets a certain riddle. The riddle goes like this:
"My Nana and I were born on the same day of the year. But our birthdays are on different dates. How is this so?"
The answer is that Isabelle's nana was born on April 21st. When Isabelle was born, although it was still April 21st on the west coast, it was April 22nd on the east coast where her birthmother gave birth to her. Nobody guesses this, to Izzy's great delight.
But Isabelle once wondered aloud, how her birthmother was able to give birth so late at night. "How can you give birth when you are sleeping?" she asked. After laughing I answered, You definitely, DEFINITELY are awake when you give birth! It hurts a lot, I hear! You cry! You scream! You push hard until the baby comes out!"
Belle looked horrified. "I am never giving birth. EVER."
Here is where Isaac chimed in, "Well that's why adoption is the smart way to go. Well, on second thought I guess I don't have to worry about any of this."
