Sometimes to get a kid to look me straight in the eyes for a portrait, I'll ask them what color their eyes are. If they don't look at me when they answer, I tell them I can't believe they actually have eyes that color, and ask that they prove it to me by looking in my eyes. It never fails! A kid is always happy to prove an adult wrong.
This afternoon I cracked up when I asked a 6 year old boy named Tommy what color his eyes were. Tommy is pretty freaking adorable, and he looked at me sadly with his big, coppery carmel colored eyes and said: "Plain".
I had to laugh, and give him a tight hug, because that boy's eyes are anything but plain.
These pictures are from heaven on earth. Also known as: Jasper Park in Canada. GO THERE NOW.
