Lucky Rabbit's Foot (Giveaway Below)

Wendy and I just got Isaac a baby rabbit for his birthday.  We were so excited, we were telling random strangers.

“Hey, we are getting our son a bunny for his birthday.”

“That’s great pal, that magazine will be three bucks.” (Hopefully, I didn’t just make it totally obvious that I don’t actually buy magazines by guessing three bucks as a newsstand price.)

First thing on birthday morning, I crept into the closet where the bunny was hidden with Isaac and Wendy.  We were so excited.  Oh, this moment was going to be so great.  We are the best, the best!

Isaac played coy. “hmmm, a rabbit. where are my other presents?”  I could tell that he was really excited, though, as he left the closet without even asking to pet/watch it.

But, Wendy and Belle are even more thrilled, so bonus. Sometimes, my sarcasm confuses me.  For those playing along at home.  Isaac not excited, Wendy and Belle- genuinely excited, Tyler-neutral observer.

I was staring at the bunny, and thinking about lucky rabbit’s feet.

As a child I loved them, the bright green/red/blue foot made into a keychain that I rubbed for luck.

I didn’t fully appreciate a couple of things at the time.

I was/am the boy/man that refuses to kill anything at all, including insects.  Yet, having a detached foot as a toy did not bother me.

Two, can a foot that was detached from its owner really be lucky?  According to my calculations, no.

That is all.

(This session was done at Star Mill in Utah County. We'll be heading back to Utah in October- if you'd like to sign up, let us know!)

Lisa Mittleman deserves to win!! She's a true inspiration to many people in her communnity.
I have known Lisa and her wonderful family for a long time, as I taught both children Kindergarten.

She's a woman of great strength and courage; her sparkling positive energy fills any room she enters. I am quite sure that many people who know her would completely agree that Lisa has given so much of herself to others, even in the face of illness and other stresses, and that she is one of the most generous people around. This exceptional woman deserves to have a photo shoot from Blue Lily and has already done an amazing job of promoting Blue Lily!
