My super sweet 80's suite- Giveaway

I arrived to Scottsdale, AZ tonight after a pretty uneventful drive.

I always like showing up to new hotels and checking out the style, decor, feel of it all.  Tonight's arrival at this resort was no disappointment.

Was I hoping for something modern with clean lines, coloful accents and maybe a quirky undertone? Yes.  Is that what I saw?

No. Oh goodness, no.

Let's just say this suite was completely overlooked by the resort's Renovation Committee.  And: I love it.

This place is huge. Much too big for one person.  Instead of human companionship I am entertained by wacky and wild patterns of pastels dominating about the fabrics in a nonsensical fashion.  The bathroom and kitchen counters are a lovely pastel marble and the cherry on top?  The ginormous jacuzzi tub. Hey, do all you readers of this blog want to come over and hot tub with me? BECAUSE YOU COULD ALL FIT IN IT. It is that big.

No, perhaps what takes the cake is this love seat I'm sitting on right now. OH the patterns. OH the colors. OH the large indentation in the middle of the cushions from so many years of... being sat on.

Dear Supersweet 80's suite: I love you.

Anyway, all this pastel was leaving me craving some style.  Soon enough I found myself internet shopping for kids' clothing. I landed on two spots- which is where the giveaway comes in.

You can win $75 to J Crew's children's line, Crewcuts, OR you could get a lot more bang for your buck at rockeroos.com, a newly launched baby/toddler line out of Los Angeles. The owner, Paige, asked me to do a couple of shots of the line being worn by baby models.  (not all of the images on the site are ours.)

All you need to do is write a comment here on the blog, or on facebook or mention us on twitter and tell us what you'd buy from one of these sites. Or, just tell me how your day is going.

As for me, I'm pretty obsessed with all of the Everday Dresses from Crewcuts; and I have to tell you that Paige sent my daughter Isabelle this shirt from the European boys collection at Rockeroos- and I dressed her in it for church today.  OH MY.  She looked so cute I almost died when I laid eyes on her. We're talking DEATH BY CUTE.

Please write your comment by Monday, Nov. 16th at 9 pm PST.

So let's recap:

1. enter the contest.

2. cross fingers.

3. win. (unless you don't. that's a bummer.)

4. check out these pix of mailboxes I took on the way out to AZ today. I've passed these mailboxes SO MANY TIMES on my various trips out to Arizona, and I've never been able to stop and click.  Today I took the opportunity and I'm glad I did. I'm thinking, front hallway wall series? Yes.

5.  Did you hear we are going to Australia? Neat! And Hawaii? Duuuuude.

Ok, so I'm glad I'm up as late as you! What hotel are you staying at? It's always nice to find a hotel in AZ that doesn't look like a desert adobe. Those mailboxes are awesome too! Anyway, I'd be shooting for the rockeroos because I work at jcrew and we are not allowed to use gift cards there. Their crewcuts are to die for though. And the little models in the catalogs??? SO CUTE! (you should get your kids in there)

Hello from across the pond! We don't have any of these stores here in England and I'd so love an everyday dress for my little girl too! Have a great time in AZ.

Wow, beautiful shots!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAlexandra
Ooooh, what a tough choice. I suppose if I won, I'd get my 4-year-old daughter the girls' knight glimmer tee. It's spectacular.
As far as how my day is going....well, I just got home from working overnight (6pm to 6:30am) and found my house in a state of absolute disrepair. So I'll have to forfiet a bit of my sleep today to get things in order before I pick the kids up from the sitter. Fun times!

My day so far? Looking ahead to a day of school with my kids and an orthodontist appointment thrown into the mix. Hoping to work through our pile of laundry . . . with a smile :)

Totally this....Crewcut's....Girls' layered cake dress... in anitique lilac (even the color name is cool). Perfect for the up coming holidays!!
The Rocket Roos site is cool, but I don't think any of those cute items would fit any of my girls....
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterConni
I love those mailboxes! I found crewcuts last week, so adorable. I'd like one of everything. And seeing as I have a boy and a girl, this is doable. And as for rocker roos... the kennedy is darling. very "anthropologie" for tots!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTess S.
I know exactly what I would buy from crewcuts if I could. I've been eyeing the classroom dress and the pretty collar tee.
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commentermakia
I would love to win!!!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterEmily
My sister just had a baby girl (I'm an aunt! Finally!) so I'd probably just give it to her. Or maybe I'd pick a bunch of stuff and mail it to them for Christmas, since I won't be there this year. But yeah. I'd give it away.
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCathie
I love the Rocker Roos 'Show your stripes' infant carrier cover. I also love the 'Kennedy' onesie
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKelsey
My 3 year old boy neeeeds these cute clothes!! Please....there's only so much I can buy at Old Navy (the ONLY acceptable place here to buy little boy clothes where they all don't have trucks or some lame thing on the front of them)!!!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBurgess
It would be amazing to win a little shopping spree, but regardless....thank you for sharing "Rocker Roos" website. I am in love with the style! I dont have kids, but I sometimes go overboard purchasing clothing, toys, etc for my neice Julia. I think she would look FABULOUS-O in the "Juliet" onesie. I hope I win, so I don't have to dip into someone else's Christmas gift fund to get it for her:)
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterRachel Russo

I'd buy Crewcut's Waffle Union Suits for my boys (to make Christmas morning pics extra adorable).
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTraci
I love J.Crew. Too bad I don't have kids yet. But I have a really good friend who has two adorable little girls, and I'm not sure whether or not I'd buy something for them myself as a gift or just give her the gift card. Either way, she deserves it!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNama
everyday petal dress from Crewcuts and the owl t-shirt, if it came in a bigger size, from rockaroo. I love the pictures you did for rockaroo.
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjeanne
Hello! New poster - but long time fan. Heard of you on ClickinMoms.com and also on CJane's blog.

Rocker Roos - LOVE the name and LOVE the clothes!! The girls Valentina onesie is to die for. I'd be ordering it right now - only I don't think my 4 year old son would appreciate me squeezing him into it. Currently pregnant and going for the gender-reveal ultrasound on Wednesday. If it's a girl - that onesie is MINE!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKelly
Love, love, love the everyday dresses from crewcuts!! They are adorable! Keeping our fingers crossed!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSarrem
Oh my goodness I love J Crew. I would get the girls Colleen Rose Ballet flats. And since I have no kids i'm lucky that I have wierdly tiny feet and the girls shoes will fit me. How lucky is that?
By the way those mailbox pictures are awesome! Love the color and the angle. Way to Go!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterShayna
Sometime in the next couple of weeks I should find out the sex of my baby (my first!) and if its a boy, like we think it is, I would definitely buy the Bennett Shirt from Rockeroos.
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJulie
J.Crew is my fave place for kids clothes! Thank you for the link to rocker roos!

November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie
A few weeks ago we got the Rocker Roo post card in the mail. (my sis in law's bff is Paige) and I thought it had a "blue lily" look to it (by the way I am 100% obsessed with your photos). Anyway, when we got the post card my 4 year old was so in love with the picture she asked if she could have it and keep it under her pillow (where she stores all her favorite things)!! You're an inspiration to all ages!
November 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSarah Hull
