Thanx giving

Thanksgiving is over!  We indeed were very thankful. Especially when sitting at a table piled high with delicious food. For the first time in like, forever, I didn't stuff myself. I was proud.

So we move on to the next holiday, my most favorite holiday of all.  I'm Dr. Seussing my house up all pretty. My whole decorating theme is inspired by Whoville.  The tree looks really Dr. Suess inspired, and I love it to bits. I'll post pictures after I climb out of this editing/ordering swamp.

Speaking of all the editing that's been going on here: I want to acknowledge that yes, we did choose to take on an insane amount of photography this season, and I knew it would be hard.  We also knew it would be completely fun and amazing in every possible way.  However-  I never, ever could have done this without my Mr. Blue Lily by my side.  He's been with me every single step of the way, editing up a frenzy, shooting his own sessions like crazy.  I would have fallen into a heap of despair early on in the season if not for him.  He truly is the guts and heart behind Blue Lily and I'm so appreciative.

End cheesy sidenote.

Wait.  Also there's our assistant Jana. She is gnarly in every way. Totally revolutionized the way our office runs, and I'd go on and on about how freaking talented she is in the way of organization, except all the other photographers who read here would steal her away. And I can't have that. No sir.

Also, there's all my friends who are constantly offering to help out any way they can.  My kids love it because usually their help means they get to go on a play date with their friends.  I love my friends, can't thank heaven enough for them.

SO i guess what I'm saying is: even though it appears at first glance it may seem like this whole Blue Lily operation is a piece of cake, it's really a complicated piece of well-oiled machinery.  I have little to do with the well-oiled part and very much to do with the holy-crap-i'm-having-a-panic-attack part.  So thank you to Tyler and Jana for holding the paper bag over my mouth while prompting me to breath deeply.

Here are a few pix from an Arizona session at the Farm at South Mountain in Phoenix.  Everyone should go there at least once to partake of their cafe, which has really good food- but I will not photograph there again. I do think the photos of all the families who did come out that day turned out really, really lovely. :)

One of the biggest reasons for choosing a short length bridal gown is that it can be worn both during and after the wedding ceremony. So many brides spend a fortune on an elaborate long gown with an equally long train for the church ceremony then realize it will be almost ...
