Look at my book

Today... today was a busy day. I started it off right when I met baby Coco, the brand spankin' new baby girl of Reachel of Cardigan Empire and her husband Andrew.

I should start with a little story. A story about this crazy shopping experience I had last night- at the Scottsdale Fashion Square. It's probably my favorite mall EVAR. Anyway, I spent like 4 gazillion hours in each of my favorite stores and spent a healthy chunk of cash. I tried on about a zillion things (which is highly unusual for me- I usually try on at home).  I plotted and counted and pondered each thing I wanted to purchase. I left a happy customer, since I felt like I finally had a shopping experience in which I didn't need to hurry, and as a result found pieces for my wardrobe that reflected my actual style.

But.

This morning I returned 80% of it.

Lame!

The thing is, and I realized this while talking to Reachel, who has the.best.style.ever, that I don't even know what my style is. I like a LOT of looks, styles, etc. but in the end, I'm only faithful to one thing:

Comfort.

I like my sneakers and flats and such. I like my baggy tees and skinny jeans.

I like my hair kind of wild and my nails un-manicured.

Reachel asked me what my style is. I said, "modern hippie."  Perhaps I should have just left the modern part out- I think I'm too slackerish to be modern.

She said she'd make me a lookbook. Now, I have no idea what that means but I'm really looking forward to it. Anything, ANYTHING touched by Reachel is an instant work of art. A piece of beauty.

Do you need a look book too?

Here's tiny (and I do mean tiny) Coco. Congrats, Reachel and Andrew.

Wendy, you are what we call "effortlessly beautiful" both in yourself and in your work. I adore you and what you have done in capturing Coco. Thank you!

Oh man, I wish I would have come with you now! Uninterrupted kid free shopping sounds blissful. Although... I guess, I would have had Mose. So next year sometime for sure.

Oh and I think you have rockin' style... I would say its more bohemian than hippie, and definitely modern. I heart your style in so many ways. I want to be just like you when I grow up.

Love the vintage stroller! Want it to add to my collection (collection of one :)).

She is so pretty. I love the pic when both of her big, beautiful eyes are open.

I love that you all know each other because I've gotten to see photos of that sweet baby on 3 different blogs so far. I (and I only know her through the various blogs) am soooooooooo soooooooo soooooooooooooo thrilled for Reachel and Andrew! And thrilled for Coco, because she's gonna be spoiled rotten and have the BEST CLOTHES!!

I love your style. I agree with your modern hippie assessment. I like it better than just slacker hippie. Because you can totally amp it up when appropriate (I've never seen you in skinny jeans at church, for example). And you always have cute accessories, even when you are rocking the jeans and tees. I am excited to see your look book.

I am jealous of the kid-free shopping, too. I know that mall (thanks to you), and how blissful it can be without kids. I will never forget how I got to wander around it for hours alone in February - I am glad I seized my chance when I had it!

Of course, I think my granddaughter, Coco, is cute. But, you captured it. I can't decide which is my favorite. Thanks!

Dear Wend,
I feel the same way about my clothes. I have a look book for my house, why not for my closet? Why? I'll tell you why. Everything I like is sleeveless.
Love,
Mind

LOVE the first one with the bike!
And I know what you mean about not knowing what your style is. I'm a big fan of comfort, myself, but will sacrifice that for a *really* cute pair of heels (sometimes). Comfort and color are my favorite things to look for in clothes!
