Airplanes, shmairplanes
Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 10:39PM I'm back from DC! It was a great trip- very tiring. Met 10 families for sessions and had a blast seeing the sites and walking and walking and walking. Really, there was a lot of walking going on.
You already know I'm addicted/obsessed with picture taking, but I'm starting to worry about myself... The following story actually happened. I was trying to sleep on my stomach after a long day, but my eyes wouldn't keep closed because I was so overtired and my brain keptracing and telling me, "GET A GOOD SHOT OF THESE SHEETS!" I'm a sicko.
But my being a sicko is good news for people who live far from SoCal and want Blue Lily pics... because I'm obsessed, I now want to travel everywhere for picture sessions. Let's plan on me coming to you in the near future, ok? Ok,
Bad news is: I get major motion sickness and it's only getting worse as I get older. Plane rides are just no fun. Subway rides? ick. Car rides? Yelcchhhh. Walking? blecchh. No, just kidding, walking is usually ok :) I even get sick now sometimes when I'm the one driving. Is this normal? I think not. BUT, even though I get travel sickness, I won't be stopped from traveling because the PICTURES MUST BE TAKEN.
So while I was in DC, I met many great families whom I adore very much. I hope to come back soon. Here are some from a session I had in Rock Creek Park- found this awesome tree, mixed it with beautiful children, and voila!

esp. love that second shot!!! mmmmmmmm......sun glare.
You got some great stuff!
They look like they should be models. I am glad to hear you had a good time on your trip and glad you made it home safely.
this family is beautiful. i love that tree. glad your home, and i feel you on the getting old motion sickness thing. sucks.
you were in DC?!? bummer...
i will have to book you next time you are over this side of the country...
You are so talented, Wendy. Pics of the sheets? LOL!
just when I think you can't get more amazing, you post pics like these. Did their mom cry when she saw them, because I pretty much did. They are beautiful. Well done.
any chance chicago is in your future????
just wanted to let you know ... you are not the only one with horrendous motion sickness. i get it too and it's getting worse as i get older also. i wouldn't dare ride a bus or heaven forbid a subway. i can only handle a 20 minute ferry ride (we live in seattle) and that's with dramamine! thank god my husband traded in his stick shift car! and yes, i've made myself carsick as the driver too. you'll never catch me as a backseat passenger. i'm always in the front with the cold air blasting on my face. hang in there.
pam
ps btw, amazing photography!
pps i also had a friend tell me that when she gave up gluten her motion sickness subsided. just a thought.
I don't think it's fair for these people to have 3 kids so beautiful. I bet it was a fun shoot for you!
How many sessions would you need to book to travel somewhere like . . . Atlanta?! We need your photography skills out here BADLY.
Those kids are beautiful. What an awesome location.
Man, that first picture in the tree is TO DIE FOR! Straight out of a magazine...just beautiful :)
Wendy these are all amazing, that is so funny because I looked at your blog a long time ago and thought, I like this girl's style.
